🔑 Password Generator
Encripta includes a built-in secure password generator. To use it:
- Tap the key icon 🔑 next to the password field
- Adjust the length (8-32 characters)
- Toggle: uppercase, lowercase, numbers, symbols
- Optionally exclude ambiguous characters (0O1lI)
- Check the strength indicator
- Tap «Copy & use» to apply the password
❓ Frequently Asked Questions
What encryption algorithm does Encripta use?
Encripta uses AES-256-CBC with PBKDF2-SHA256 key derivation (100,000 iterations). This is the same encryption standard used by governments, banks, and military organizations.
Is it safe to share encrypted text via WhatsApp or email?
Yes. The encrypted text is completely unreadable without the password. You can share it through any medium. However, do not send the password through the same channel. Use a different medium to communicate the password (for example, if you send the text via WhatsApp, share the password in person or by phone call).
Where is my data stored?
On no server. All processing happens locally on your device. Encripta does not send any data to the internet. It does not even require a connection to work.
Do I need to create an account to use the app?
No. Encripta does not require registration or user account. Simply install and use.
Can I use the same password for multiple messages?
Technically yes, but it is not recommended for security reasons. Each message or file should have a unique password. If you use the same password and someone discovers it, they would have access to all your encrypted content.
What happens if I forget the password?
There is no way to recover it. Encripta does not store passwords. If you forget the password, the content is unrecoverable. This is a security feature, not a flaw.
Does it work without internet connection?
Yes. Encripta works completely offline. You do not need internet to encrypt or decrypt.
What file types can I encrypt?
Any type: photos (JPG, PNG, HEIC), videos (MP4, MOV), documents (PDF, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX), compressed files (ZIP), music (MP3), and any other format.
What is a .encripta file?
It is the proprietary encrypted file format. It contains the original file encrypted along with metadata (name, type, date) also encrypted. It can only be opened with Encripta and the correct password.
Can I open .encripta files on different devices?
Yes. The .encripta format is compatible across iOS, Android, and macOS. You can encrypt on an iPhone, send it by email, and decrypt it on an Android or Mac.
Why can I not preview some files?
The built-in preview only works with images. For other file types (PDFs, videos, documents), you will need to use «Save» and open them with the corresponding app.
What languages are available?
Encripta automatically detects your device language. It supports 14 languages: English, Spanish, Chinese, German, French, Portuguese, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Dutch, Polish, Turkish, and Arabic.

- Use long and complex passwords – Minimum 12 characters with uppercase, lowercase, numbers, and symbols
- Do not reuse passwords – Each message or file should have a unique password
- Share the password through another channel – If you send the content by email, communicate the password by phone or in person
- Do not store passwords in plain text – Use a password manager if you need to remember several
- Verify the recipient – Before sharing sensitive content, confirm the identity of the receiver
- Use the password generator – Generate random and secure passwords with the built-in tool
